Maverik Tank 2.0 Lacrosse Head

The Maverik Tank 2.0 stands as a monument to defensive prowess within Maverik's lacrosse history. This ultra-stiff head (the stiffest Maverik has ever made) caters to the enforcer on the field, boasting unmatched rigidity with the 6-strut Xrail design and Duratough materials, a wide face shape, and a high pocket design. The Tank 2.0 integrates into Maverik's defensive legacy. Following a lineage of reliable defensive heads, it takes stiffness and ground ball control seriously.

Perfect head for:
The fundamental defenseman who seeks the stiffness and strength to lift, poke, and slap with confidence.

Key features include:

Level 5 bottom rail made for a high pocket.
Ground Control Technology for an engineered scoop angle, designed to pick up groundballs with ease.
X-Rail Technology distributes the stress to the opposite rail creating a lightweight and stiff design.
Made in the USA.

Top Competitors

The Tank 2.0 boasts a mid-pocket depth and a balanced face shape, excelling at both powerful checks and controlled ground ball pick-up. The ECD Rebel Defense features a slightly shallower pocket and a pinched face shape, ideal for precise checks and maintaining tight possession control in close defensive situations. Conversely, the STX Hammer 1K prioritizes loose ball dominance with its wider face and shallower pocket, making it a weapon for scooping ground balls and winning battles in open spaces.

Progression of the Maverik Tank 2.0

The Maverik Tank lacrosse head series features two models: the Tank and the Tank 2.0. Here's a breakdown of their progression:

Original Maverik Tank
  • Level 5 Bottom Rail.
  • 4-Strut Design for maximum stiffness and rail support.
  • Two screw holes for added head security.
  • Wide face design for intercepting passes.
  • Multiple stringing holes for custom pocket options.
Maverik Tank 2.0
  • Updated with Ground Control scoop so that defensemen will own the GB battle.
  • Newly introduced X-Rail Technology.
  • 6-Struts to redefine the standards of stiffness in poke checks and slaps.
👍 Pros
Perfect defensive head. Wide scoop and heavy as an, uh, tank.
It's good for defense but too wide for LSM; still passable, though. Incredibly durable.
Very stiff, perfect for scooping up ground balls.
👎 Cons
The head needs a significant break-in period to feel comfortable.
The face shape is tricky! A+ on GBs, F on everything else.
Stringing this thing is a challenge due to the head's width.
This is my favorite defensive head by far. It has a wider face than the first generation to make knocking passes down and transition that much easier. The head is incredibly stiff and holds its shape a lot longer and better than other defensive heads. I used this head through all 5 years of college, and the 2.0 is on both sticks I use right now for my men’s league. It's really durable, and you can throw up a lot of hard checks. It will for sure cause some pain when you use it.
