Progression of the G2 irons

The G series was first released in 2003 for game improvement. Before the "G" series, Ping had other popular models like the Eye2, ISI, and Zing, but the G marked the beginning of the numbered "G" series that continues to this day with models like the G425. To this date, Ping is constantly upgrading the G series with tweaks and minor improvements. They have released specific models for low handicappers, high handicappers, slower swing speeds, and high-launching clubs.

👍 Pros
These classic irons take the ball right where you aim them. Super clubs!
Good beginners irons and super easy launch!
Great irons. Like how high I can now hit a 4 and 5 iron.
👎 Cons
Clubs worked fine, with the exception of the worm grip.
Make sure to check out what color dot is right for you. Ping uses a colored dot system to denote the top angle. This will probably only matter if you’re very tall or very short.
I would check out the G5s. They are the best G series.
At the time, the G2s were known as the most forgiving iron set Ping ever created. They hit long. Even being an older model, they're still putting up similar numbers to some of the newer clubs on the market. The G2s are distance-heavy, high launching, and soft landing. And even though they are an older Ping model, these irons hold their value incredibly well. There are a lot of Ping loyalists. Like my dad, for example, he played college golf in the late 80s. And he still hits his Ping Eye2s. He refuses to get rid of them and hits them well. There's just something about Ping.
