This wide design is also great for goalies who prefer to tuck their chest protector into their pants when playing. The wide style thigh guards are designed to stay centered on the thighs and hang naturally to help fill the five-hole area. Large side slash pads serve to extend net coverage as well as increase protection and square the edge of the pant, providing a stiff blocking surface. The rear leg of the pants features a vertical shell split that allows the thigh area to stay in position and resist being displaced when moving down to the ice. This also helps optimize the thigh guard positioning in the five hole area for maximum performance.
