How to Ship A Baseball Bat
SidelineSwap is a great place to buy and sell baseball and softball bats, both new and used. If you're looking to sell your bat, we've got a few tips to help you ship them safely.
Materials You'll Need
- Quality packing tape
- USPS Medium Sized Tube box (38” x 6” x 5”)
- Scissors
- Bubble wrap/newspaper
Packaging
We use USPS for boxes, and we recommend using their 38” x 6” x 5”" USPS medium tube box. Assemble the box leaving one end open. Place paper/bubble wrap at the top and bottom of the box to prevent the bat from touching the end.
Don’t forget to use your bubble wrap/newspaper to fill the space in the box to prevent the bat from moving in the package. Bats without bubble wrap/paper have a higher chance of shifting in the package and piercing the box. This can lead to your bat falling out and being lost in transit.
If you cannot get your hands on a USPS medium tube box, you can always use a box you already own. Rug boxes, hockey stick boxes, and lamp boxes are good examples of the proper size and shape box that you could use to ship your baseball or softball bat.
